Abigail Foley

Senior Researcher

Abigail M. Foley is a senior researcher in the Learning Supports program area. In this role, she serves as Deputy Director of the federally funded Lead for Literacy Center and directs AIR’s Fuchs Tutoring Professional Learning services. Foley also works with higher education faculty to promote the use of evidence-based instructional practices in teacher preparation activities. Within AIR, she leads professional learning for staff as a member of the Learning Supports leadership team and oversees supports for project directors. She has extensive experience designing and delivering professional learning (including workshops, trainings, webinars, professional learning communities, online modules, etc.), managing large projects and budgets, leading teams, and creating research-informed tools and resources. She has expertise in early literacy, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), evidence-based practices (EBPs), high-leverage practices (HLPs), professional learning, and project management.

Prior to AIR, Foley was an elementary special education teacher. She holds a master’s degree in special education from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree from Bates College. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
