Alejandra Martin

Alejandra Martin is a researcher at AIR. Dr. Martin has experience in research and evaluation studies of English language learners and dual language learners, child development, and family and community engagement. She has extensive experience contributing to large federal contracts, including with the Institute of Education Sciences (IES).

Dr. Martin is currently the project director of a five-year evaluation of the Collaborative Language Acquisition Strategies for Success (CLASS) project in Texas. The mixed-method evaluation will inform immediate program improvement and its impacts on Emergent Bilinguals and schools in the state. Dr. Martin is also co-leading the Texas Education Agency Multilingual Outreach Campaign. The project is a collaborative effort across three organizations to develop and implement a suite of educational resources to assist local education agencies to build strong community connections with families of multilingual learners. Dr. Martin also has expertise in early child development and is conducting an evaluation of the Kit for New Parents in California. For this project, she provides daily management of the project and content expertise.
