Anita Lederer

Anita Lederer is a researcher with more than 7 years’ experience in educational research. Lederer specializes in equity in higher education, violence prevention, education policy, and promoting equity in education for students of color and low-income students. Her methodological work is qualitative-driven. Also, she provides an integral partner in the field by connecting with community partners and schools from the recruitment stage to final reporting.

Currently, Lederer serves as an evaluation lead in a national study of how postsecondary institutions implement student success initiatives for underserved populations. She also leads a team of site coordinators on a randomized control trial to lower the achievement gap. In addition, she works closely with the client and project director on the Federal Interagency Forums work at AIR which supports the production of the annual America’s Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being report by the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics and the Older Americans: Key Indicators of Well-Being report by the Federal Interagency Forum on Aging-Related Statistics.

Prior to her work AIR, Lederer conducted international education research contributing to the Open Doors reports and other briefs. As well as working on impact evaluation to determine the impacts of a workers’ rights program in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Lederer has always been an advocate for communities in need, especially women, individuals of color, low-income individuals, and immigrants.
