Brandy Farrar

Managing Director

Brandy Farrar is a managing director in the Health Division at AIR. Dr. Farrar is an expert qualitative and mixed methodologist whose primary expertise is in identifying evidence-based best practices for designing and implementing policies aimed at improving the quality of, access to, and capacity of health care services. She uses multiple methodologies to collect and analyze data to elicit actionable research findings that help clients and their target audiences meet their goals. These methodologies include policy analyses, literature reviews, human-centered design, key informant interviews, focus groups, observations, document reviews, and surveys. Dr. Farrar has applied these skills in a variety of organizational settings (e.g., hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes, community health centers, government agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations).

Dr. Farrar is a sociologist who specializes in the intersection between individual-level social psychology and system-level structures and processes, particularly as it relates to inequality. Her subject matter expertise includes health insurance policy and operations, health workforce, behavioral health, and value-based payment models.
