The Cal Hospital Compare website features quality and performance information on California hospitals to help healthcare consumers make smarter and more informed choices when making medical decisions. AIR is assisting Cal Hospital Compare by obtaining data on patient experience, mother and baby outcomes, readmissions surgical outcomes, infections, and complications from numerous sources to maintain the website. Cal Hospital Compare publicly reports clinical performance and patient experience data for the state's more than 300 hospitals.
The website is designed to help inform and educate consumers about the outcomes at hospitals near them. AIR obtains, analyzes, and formats the data to enable simple, understandable report card materials and displays for consumers, as well as monitoring trends in outcomes and developing honor rolls for high performers.
