Cherise G. Moore

Principal Researcher

Cherise G. Moore is a principal researcher with AIR, where she is serving with the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO). Dr. Moore has held various educational positions, including elementary school teacher, adult education teacher, high school teacher, program coordinator, program director, summer school principal, adult school director and district-level administrator. She served as program director for the Tempe Union High School District’s Adult Education Program in Tempe, Arizona from 2000-2004 and served as the Director of Adult Education for the Burbank Unified School District from 2004-2009. Most recently, she served as the director of educational services for Burbank Unified School District.

Dr. Moore previously served on the California Department of Education's (CDE) Adult Education Field Partnership Team, the CDE Adult Education Strategic Planning Steering Committee and the CALPRO Professional Advisory Board. She has also served as a trainer and presenter specializing in the areas of new administrators and leadership, fiscal management, advocacy, strategic planning and collaborations and partnerships for CALPRO, CASAS and OTAN as well as for the California Council for Adult Education (CCAE), California Adult Education Administrators Association (CAEAA) and Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) conferences. She has also held various offices in the adult education professional organizations, including serving in CCAE as the South Coast Section Legislative Chair, Section President and 2010 State Conference Chair; and serving in as secretary, president-elect and as state president for the California Adult Education Administrators Association.
