Chris Magyar

Senior TA Consultant

Chris Magyar is a senior TA consultant with over 35 years of business, workforce development and information technology experience. Magyar serves as a project director for the Department of Labor-funded Industry Intermediary project working in partnership with CompTIA’s Apprenticeships for Tech initiative to expand and accelerate the growth of information technology apprenticeships. Magyar also serves as the AIR project director under contract to the National Institute for Innovation and Technology and their Growing Apprenticeships in Nanotechnology and Semiconductors program.

Prior to joining AIR, Magyar was chief apprenticeship officer for Techtonic, a Colorado based software development and talent generation company. In his role, Magyar drove the launch and growth of Colorado and Nebraska’s first registered apprenticeship programs in software development, and built partnerships with state and county workforce development agencies, non-profits, and industry groups to fund and promote apprenticeships. Magyar worked with the American Council on Education’s pathways pilot to gain endorsement to provide college credit for apprenticeships.

As a tech talent champion, Magyar served as co-chair for the Boulder County Workforce Development Board and as co-chair for the Tech Talent Boulder/Broomfield sector partnership. Magyar is very active in technology, business, and networking groups and is a volunteer with the Colorado Technology Association.

Before joining Techtonic, Magyar held several executive level positions leading information technology services organizations across a broad range of industries including technology, life sciences, energy, healthcare, staffing, and software.
