Christina Herzog

Principal TA Consultant

Christina Herzog is a principal TA consultant. Prior to joining AIR, she served as a consultant, coach and project manager for technical assistance projects under contracts with federal and state agencies at Maher & Maher. Herzog’s expertise lies in developing national, state, and regional technical assistance that effectively blend in-person and virtual training to support the development of strategies to align workforce, education, and economic development efforts.  Key areas of subject matter expertise include sector strategies, career pathways, workforce board development and governance, apprenticeships, and unemployment insurance.

At Maher & Maher, Herzog served as a senior analyst for the U.S. Department of Labor ETA Sector Strategies project, as well as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Implementation and Technical Assistance project, and as a coach and subject matter expert for the Office of Apprenticeship State Apprenticeship Expansion Grant project.  She also worked with the Office of Regional Management, and in Maher’s Regional practice supporting both regional sector initiatives and statewide career pathways and sector strategies training initiatives.

Before joining Maher & Maher, Herzog served with the New Jersey State Workforce Investment Board, known as the State Employment and Training Commission (SETC), in projects focusing on State Workforce Alignment, Business Engagement, and Technical Assistance to Local Workforce Investment Boards.  Before the SETC she was a research project director at the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University, where she provided project management, research, and policy analysis focused on Industry Sector Strategies. Herzog also spent six years in the private sector and taught courses for the Department of Political Science at Washington State University.
