Dana Tofig
Dana Tofig is the Managing Director of Corporate Communications for AIR. A veteran writer and communications professional, he joined AIR in 2017 and oversees its external channels, outreach, and content development. This includes the teams that manage the corporate website (www.air.org) and social media, editorial and creative content, and media relations. He serves as AIR’s primary media contact and spokesperson and hosts the company’s podcast, AIR Informs.
Tofig has also held communications leadership roles in education at all levels of government, including the Institute of Education Sciences, Montgomery County (Md.) Public Schools, and the Georgia Department of Education. Prior to his work in communications, Tofig was a journalist for 16 years at two major metropolitan newspapers, The Hartford Courant and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he covered several topics, including education, criminal justice, and state and local politics.
As a journalist, he won several national and local awards from different organizations, including the Society for Professional Journalists and the Education Writers Association. In 1999, Tofig was among a team of Hartford Courant reporters awarded the Pulitzer Prize for their coverage of a workplace shooting in Newington, CT.
