Elisabeth Davis

Principal Researcher

Elisabeth Davis is a principal researcher at AIR. Dr. Davis’s expertise includes college access and readiness, experimental and quasi-experimental design, and quantitative statistical methodology. She has collaborated on several projects in a variety of roles since joining AIR. Her most recent roles have been as principal investigator of a study examining access to dual credit programs and their associated early college success outcomes in Minnesota, as quantitative lead on a study examining college enrollment patterns of rural Indiana high school graduates, as the project director for a study evaluating the implementation and impact of a schoolwide college-access program in Minnesota, and as project director for an ongoing school climate survey in the Cleveland Unified School District, which surveys over 20,000 students at three different time points during the school year. Other roles include project lead on a study examining the predictors of early college success using data from the Indiana state longitudinal data system, and as project director for studies evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of federally funded School Improvement Grants in middle schools in Michigan and Iowa. Dr. Davis also is a certified What Works Clearinghouse reviewer for group design standards.

Before coming to AIR, Dr. Davis worked as an education research associate for the American College of Surgeons, where she managed a master file of national surgery residency databases and presented her research at several national conferences on demographic changes and attrition in general surgery residencies.
