Elise Dizon-Ross

Elise is a researcher with the National Center for Analysis of Longitudinal Data in Education Research (CALDER) at AIR, where she helps lead research and evaluation studies on a range of topics including COVID academic recovery, the implications of school segregation, and access to basic needs for students and teachers. She has experience with program evaluation, causal inference methods, descriptive quantitative analysis, and experimental research design.

Prior to joining CALDER, Dizon-Ross was a postdoctoral scholar at the California Policy Lab at UC Berkeley. Her past research examined the intersections of housing policy, housing instability, and the social safety net with educational opportunity, from K12 through higher education. Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Dizon-Ross worked with multiple nonprofit and public sector organizations to advance educational and job opportunities for disadvantaged groups, focusing on areas such as chronic absenteeism and out-of- school-time learning.
