Eric Muchugu

Data Scientist

Eric Muchugu is a data scientist in the Data Science and Advanced Analytics group at AIR. He brings expertise in agriculture, biological sciences (specifically entomology and ecology), geographic information system (GIS), and remote sensing with over 25 years of experience. Mr. Muchugu spearheaded the establishment of GIS at Laikipia Research Programme (now called CETRAD) and later on at Kimetrica LLC for multi-disciplinary research approach. He played a crucial role in development of Population Explorer. He designed a spatial Land Information System currently used by the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project under Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development. He is skilled in using R, Python, ArcGIS, MySQL, PostGreSQL, OpenLayers API, and OSM API. He has interest in location-based service and geo-based augmented reality.

Crop Modeling to Support Climate Change Resilience in Kenya
