Evan Nielsen
Evan Nielsen is a senior researcher at AIR with over twelve years of experience in data collection operations and management. Nielsen specializes in studies of public libraries and postsecondary education, at the individual and institutional levels. He has organized and conducted multi-mode survey protocols as well as qualitative data collections, including cognitive testing of survey instruments. Nielsen has extensive experience conceptualizing and implementing the technical aspects of survey operations, especially developing and maintaining complex Web-based data collection systems. He has merged administrative and survey data to inform data collection operations as well as study findings. In addition, he has managed respondent locating and quality assurance processes for large- and small-scale survey data collection projects.
Nielsen has authored several methodological reports and analyzed the results of methodological experiments. Currently, he serves as project director for the Public Libraries Survey, conducted on behalf of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. In addition to his academic degrees, he holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from the Project Management Institute.
