Jingtong Pan

Senior Researcher

Jingtong Pan is a senior researcher at AIR. Dr. Pan’s research is centered around describing, explaining, and optimizing the overall wellness, health, and potential thriving of young people and their communities, with a particular focus on examining how members in the community come together to support social, emotional, and educational development of children from birth through post-secondary education.

Working collaboratively with research partners from community-based organizations to state educational agencies, Dr. Pan uses his content expertise in education and child development and methodological expertise in study design and quantitative analytic skills to address the most pressing needs in the field of education and child development.

Dr. Pan has led statewide analyses of school turnaround practices as well as evaluations of innovative educational programs in multiple states. Most recently, he co-led a project that investigates the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic is associated with changes in student learning overall and across student groups of different demographic and socioeconomic status.
