Kennan Murray

Senior Researcher

Kennan Murray is a senior researcher in the Health Division at AIR. Her primary responsibilities include leading projects and tasks related to the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of complex health care data for use in quality improvement initiatives, health care payment policy, and outcomes evaluation.

Murray has extensive experience collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research data on topics including health care quality, provider reimbursement, hospital finance, and post-acute care services. An experienced programmer, she is skilled in data management and analysis and has worked extensively with Medicare and commercial insurance claims and the Medicare Healthcare Cost Report Information System. She also has developed interview protocols, conducted key informant interviews, and analyzed survey data, and integrated the findings of these activities into the framework of larger-scale impact evaluations. Murray has worked with a wide range of clients including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the National Institutes of Health, and numerous state and national hospital and healthcare associations.

Prior to joining AIR, Murray was a senior associate at Dobson DaVanzo & Associates, a health care economics consulting firm, where she managed private-sector and government research projects and policy studies. Murray also was a research statistician at RTI International where she provided methodological, programming, and analytical support to healthcare research projects, clinical trials, and national surveys related to health and education.
