About the Knowledge Hub
Partnering for Better Chronic Pain Management and Safer Opioid Use: A Knowledge Hub for People With Disability and Their Providers is a set of evidence-based resources to support people with chronic pain and disabilities, as well as their healthcare providers, to better manage pain, more safely manage opioids, and learn about accessing treatment for opioid use disorder.
The Knowledge Hub was developed based on a review of existing resources and research articles and interviews with people with disability, healthcare providers, and peer recovery counselors. The purpose of the interviews was to understand knowledge gaps among providers, peer recovery counselors, and people with disability—specifically, what they want to know and where the information gaps exist. Throughout development of the Knowledge Hub, we received input from our advisory panel, which includes persons with disability, primary care providers, addiction medicine specialists, policymakers, and researchers. We would like to thank our advisory panel members for their invaluable input.
