Kyle Neering

Economist

Dr. Kyle Neering is an Economist in the Workforce Development program at AIR. As an applied microeconomist and mixed methods researcher, he relies on a wide variety of analytical techniques to better understand the implementation and effects of programs and policies in training and education. He has extensive experience applying these techniques to research and policy questions in primary and post-secondary education, including elementary classroom organization, special education curriculum implementation, college readiness, college course registration, and the college-to-workforce transition.

Dr. Neering also supports AIR’s PROMISE Center in identifying and promoting interventions that support displaced workers. Previously, Dr. Neering was a Research Scientist at CNA where he directed projects and conducted analysis on issues related to education, training, and workforce development in the military, including an evaluation of how servicemembers’ utilize post-secondary education funding and a congressionally requested study on recruitment and retention of Reserve Officer Training Corps college students at minority serving institutions.
