Mary Ann Fox

Vice President and Program Area Lead

Mary Ann Fox is a vice president at AIR and director of the national and international statistics practice area. In this role, she provides oversight and management to a set of 14 related projects regarding financial stewardship, quality of the work product, coordination of staff, and service to clients. These tasks provide the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) with the technical assistance and expert advice it requires to support its national and international data collections and assessments, analyses, methodological research, statistical product preparation, and training programs.

Since first joining AIR in 1998, Fox has also contributed as a statistical specialist to the National Assessment of Educational Progress and led the Annual Reports Program, authoring and managing NCES’s flagship publications: The Condition of Education, the Digest of Education Statistics, Indicators of School Crime and Safety, and Projections of Education Statistics. Fox holds master’s degrees in Applied Statistics and Secondary Mathematics Education and worked as a high school mathematics teacher for four years.
