Soo Lee

Soo Lee is a senior researcher/psychometrician at AIR. Dr. Lee works on research projects focused on analyzing data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2010-2011 Cohort (ECLS-K: 2011), and quantitative methodology. Dr. Lee has extensive technical and practical expertise in issues related to NAEP. She has led more than 20 reviews including NAEP data-product reviews, technical review tasks of NAEP Technical Documentation of the Web, and technical reviews of NAEP publication including the Nation’s Report Card to ensure that they meet statistical and psychometric standards. She has expertise in unidimensional and multidimensional item response theory models, computerized multistage testing, differential item functioning detection method, cognitive diagnostic models, and multiple indicators multiple causes (MIMIC) models.

At AIR, Dr. Lee applies these skills to involve in research using the NAEP and ECLS-K: 2011 datasets. Dr. Lee is a co-author of a research study entitled “Evaluating Construct Comparability Between the Paper-based Assessment and a Digital-based Assessment in NAEP Mathematics Data Report." She also has authored various technical reports and journal articles about psychometric properties including the topics of DIF in MIRT and MIMIC models.
