Vanessa Hoffman

Researcher

Vanessa Hoffman is a researcher in the International Development Division at AIR. She has over 8 years of experience leading qualitative approaches for evaluations and assessments in developing country settings. Her current work evaluates energy efficiency and renewable energy generation activities in Kosovo, improving children’s educational outcomes in Burkina Faso, and assessing gender and youth contexts in preparation for a graduation intervention in Uganda.

She has worked with implementers on assessments for ongoing improvement in interventions in Uganda, specifically focusing on youth, as well as nutrition and water, sanitation, and hygiene. She has also led the qualitative approach for evaluations of school nutrition and literacy programs in Mali and Burkina Faso. In the labor context, Hoffman has managed multiple mixed-methods evaluations for USDOL in Zambia, Costa Rica, and Argentina. She is proficient in French and is a registered dietitian nutritionist.
