A SPECIAL MEMORIAL DAY OFFER FROM REDD’S BARBERSHOP
Every last Monday in May, all across the United States, we take time to pause and remember those who gave their lives in service of our country.
Originally known as Decoration Day, the Memorial day tradition began around the time of the Civil War, and happend on an unspecified day in late summer. The origins of the holiday are unknown, but it began as a yearly tradition in cities and towns across America, when the family and friends of fallen soldiers would gather to clean and adorn their graves.
The gathering was a somber time of remembrance, but also a time of family reunions and picnics. The whole town would shut down to honor the souls lost in the Civil War, on both sides. After World War I, the holiday expanded to include soldiers who lost their lives in all wars. And, in 1971 it was declared a national holiday.
Though Memorial day honors those who have passed, we want to thank all the brave people who put their lives at risk. So, Redd’s Barbershop is offering a special Memorial Day Veterans Discount.
